PSL has a clean assembly space with blowers with HEPA filters, a gowning entrance, and a separate 46″ wide by 78″ high doorway that can allow larger equipment to be rolled in. This space is available for projects that require lower particle counts than standard room air. A hand held particle counter is available for monitoring the room cleanliness. With gowning and regular cleaning, the room easily reaches particle count levels for Class 10,000 (ISO 7) or better. This space has been used for very clean UHV vacuum assemblies, clean cable assembly for the LZ project, and clean assembly of the xenon gas handling system for LZ.
