Fusion Energy

Fusion Energy is a proposed method of harnessing the energy released from the fusion of atoms (primarily hydrogen). This would facilitate the conversion of the nearly limitless quantity of deuterium, commonly found in ocean water, into low-cost and clean energy.

WHAM Fusion

The Wisconsin HTS Axisymmetric Mirror (WHAM) is a fusion research experiment exploring high-field magnetic confinement and advanced plasma heating. PSL contributes engineering and fabrication expertise to the development of this next-generation fusion technology, in collaboration with REALTA.

HSX

The Helically Symmetric Experiment (HSX) is a stellarator fusion experiment studying how magnetic fields can confine high-temperature plasma. PSL supported the design, analysis, fabrication, and assembly of the experiment’s major components.

W7-X

Wendelstein 7-X (W7-X) is the world’s largest stellarator fusion experiment, testing magnetic confinement for future fusion power plants. PSL contributed engineering and manufacturing expertise to the project.
